Wavemaker shortlisted for two honours at the 2025 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards

May 21
Wavemaker has been shortlisted in two fiercely contested categories at this year’s Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards: Digital Award and Responsible Business of the Year.

The double nomination celebrates both our innovative use of technology and our enduring commitment to social impact across Staffordshire.

Digital Award – sponsored by Capula

The Digital Award recognises organisations that push the boundaries of technology to transform the way we live and work. We share the shortlist with Podsmith and Midlands Power Networks.

Our nomination spotlights DigitAll, Wavemaker’s platform that blends AI‑powered e‑learning with grassroots support to tackle digital inequality. From online safety to advanced AI skills, we are creating opportunities so that no‑one is left behind in the digital age.

Responsible Business of the Year – sponsored by Rydale Roofing

This category honours organisations whose values shine through in ethical practice, community engagement and environmental stewardship. Joining us on the 2025 shortlist are Hanley Economic Building Society, Alice Charity and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Wavemaker’s selection is underpinned by a decade of measurable impact: more than 10,000 people trained, over 2,000 workshops delivered, and 1,000+ devices distributed to individuals with limited or no digital access.

Looking ahead to awards night

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at Uttoxeter Racecourse on 10 July 2025, where businesses from across the county will gather to celebrate innovation and responsibility.

“Being recognised in both categories is fantastic and reflects our team’s passion for digital inclusion and the responsible use of technology. Whether we’re distributing devices, helping someone send their first email, or equipping people with the skills and confidence needed for an ever‑changing job market, the goal is the same: create opportunities and change lives,” said Alex Rowley, Co-Director, Wavemaker.

We will share updates after the ceremony. In the meantime, a huge thank you to our partners, learners, volunteers and staff whose dedication has made this recognition possible.

Stay tuned - and keep your fingers crossed for 10th of July!
