The Communities We Work With
For us, it was a fantastic opportunity to represent Wavemaker, Stoke-on-Trent and the communities we work with, and to bring a digital inclusion perspective into those wider conversations.
We spend a lot of our time looking at what happens after connectivity is in place. Having access to the internet is incredibly important, but access alone doesn't necessarily mean somebody has the skills, confidence or understanding to make the most of it.
That's The Bit We're Passionate About
So it was brilliant for Alex & I to spend an afternoon meeting people from across the sector, hearing different perspectives and talking about some of the work we're doing back home.
Admittedly, there was also a moment of looking around the Terrace Pavilion at The Houses of Parliament and thinking:
"How did we end up here?"
From starting Wavemaker in Stoke-on-Trent to representing our work at the House of Commons... not a bad afternoon at the office.
A huge thank you to ISPA UK for the invitation and for bringing everyone together.
