About us

Wavemaker Stoke CIC is a not-for-profit organisation committed to bridging the digital divide through specialised education, training and support.

Our key mission is ensuring that those furthest from digital technology are empowered to move towards it, therefore improving the health and well-being of individuals and their wider communities. We achieve this by promoting core digital skills and confidence within a wide range of client groups, from healthcare clinicians and their patients to young people with gaps in education or training.

First established in 2015, we remain dedicated to improving the future outcomes of Stoke-on-Trent and its residents; our motto of ‘teach for good, for all’ is at the heart of everything that we do. We are passionate about ensuring that digital skills are accessible to all regardless of age, background or experience.

How do we do this?

We host a range of training and education opportunities that are tailored according to the needs of our clients. Many of these opportunities have been held at our headquarters in Hanley, where we have introduced hundreds of people to coding, programming, digital design and manufacture. However we have risen to the demands and challenges of COVID-19 by taking our offering online. We are able to provide webinars, workshops and engagement activities online, and construct and shape our delivery to best suit the needs of the learner.

Recent feedback from NHS clinicians and other professionals has been overwhelmingly positive, and we continue to respond, adapt and grow in light of the ever evolving political landscape.

Wavemaker is all about inspiring ambition and drive, encouraging people to ask ‘what if?’ and to fulfil their true potential.
